  • Malik Verlag Dada Messe Poster (1920): "the Dada movement will bring on the abolition of art-business"

Berlinische Galerie
Alte Jakobstr. 124-128
10969 Berlin

Anonymous collages realized and exhibited as part of  bla blA BLA Collage workshop as section of the retrospective exhibition Raoul Hausmann / Vision. Provocation. Dada.

The Berlinische Galerie neglected to organize any talks or conferences addressing the current relevance of Hausmann and Berlin Dada. The latter’s rejection of art production tailored to the bourgeoisie and the art market (see poster excerpt from 1920) of their time could not be re-explicited in a collective situation involving museum visitors: only mute artefacts from the 1920s could speak for themselves. These collages were thereby the only moment of critique of the current art market within this otherwise significant exhibition.

Due to communication failure of the workshop organizers, the collages could not be retrieved at the end of the exhibition and were instead disposed of, according to museum staff.
